Marathon Series – May 2018

2018 PaddleNSW Marathon State Championships (hosted by Cronulla Sutherland Kayak Club)

Saturday 12th May

https://www.webscorer.com/registerseries?seriesid=129221

You may choose to enter Singles or Doubles events, or BOTH.

Singles events will be run in the morning, and Doubles events in the afternoon.
Recognising that we are conducting both Singles and Doubles events in the one day, and that the AC Marathon National Championships are being held the following weekend, distances for the PaddleNSW State Championships have been reduced from what paddlers might normally expect to see in National, International, World Cup and ICF events (1 lap less in Singles events, 2 laps less in Doubles events)

EVERY paddler is required to complete an entry.
BOTH paddlers in a Doubles event are required to complete their own individual entries.
When entering a Doubles event, you MUST provide your paddling partner’s name.

Paddlers who may like to assist in the running of these events, before or after their races, are encouraged to contact Gary Rake (rakedover@gmail.com) or Bob Turner (bob.turner@nsw.paddle.org.au) and nominate as Volunteers and/or Officials…….any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Saturday Morning – All Singles events

Saturday Afternoon – All Doubles Events

If you have any difficulties in completing your entry, please send an email, with details of your query, to marathon@nsw.paddle.org.au

Two more reasons to get your entry in for PNSW State MarathonChampionships…

1. State Championship Club Trophy: The way to win this trophy is to maximise the number of entries from your club. Simple.

2. Medals in EVERY class: at State championships, we take the view that you can only race whoever turns up…so even if you are the only entrant in your class/age…you’ll get the medal.

Remember, the results don’t record who didn’t show up…

CLUB STANDINGS

Here it is…the latest club pointscore!!

Lane Cove – Race 5

Congratulations Lane Cove. With a massive turnout of 20 doubles – Lane Cove have really stretched their lead. (amazing, considering how many Lane Cove regulars didn’t race as they were volunteering as race officials)

Big effort too from Burley Griffin bringing 10 doubles up from Canberra, Sutherland with 10 from the Shire and MWKC bringing 9 down from Narrabeen.

There are over 1000 photos in the PaddleNSW Flickr Album, enjoy! Thanks to our photographers on the day, and Lane Cove River Kayakers for hosting.
