This year Windsor Paddlesports Club was favoured with perfect weather and lots of lush grassy space for the 115 racers to enjoy Race 2 in the 2024 Marathon series on Sunday 25th February. Just as well, as we needed to compensate the Wagga Paddlers who had their confirmed accommodation gazumped three times on their drive up by cashed up Taylor Swifties. We thank them for their resilience, support and good nature at our dinner and race.
The river conditions were good, and our inside info on the shallow water didn’t prove to be any significant advantage to the home team.
Whilst the SES volunteers had a pretty easy day, we greatly appreciate their support, particularly when there have been so many emergency situations in the community in recent times.
The more subdued temperature kept the jet-skis and usual summer crowds at bay, or was that just because we dominated Macquarie Park?
