Slalom Committee update

Junior paddlers making the most of slalom kayaks recently purchased by PaddleNSW to encourage the transition of recreational paddlers to slalom

It has been great to get back to a semi-regular slalom season following the challenges of the last couple of years, with the PaddleNSW Slalom Committee supporting training and competitive events throughout the state.

The committee also purchased five club-level slalom boats to encourage recreational whitewater kids to make the transition to slalom. This has been a great initiative, with many more juniors trying slalom for the first time and several taking up the sport.

Apart from being a great sport, paddling slalom has proven to be one of the best ways to improve recreational whitewater skills, as well.
