Dust off your paddles! Marathon racing is making a return to NSW, with Windsor Paddlesports Club hosting a race on Saturday August 8th.

This will be the one regular-distance marathon event on the calendar for the remainder of the year, and due to COVID-safety protocols has a cap of 100 paddlers. It’s exciting that race registrations have filled up so quickly, and great to see that a large number of juniors have signed up to take part. 2020 was to mark the inaugural Junior Marathon Series, and we hope that this initiative will have a strong uptake into 2021.

The Return to Marathon will also serve as the first event of the six-race 2020 NSW Ultramarathon Series. Following the success of last year’s series, paddlers will again be invited to take on the challenge of distance as the races grow longer.

COVID permitting, dates for the series are:
Race 2: Wyong Ultra, August 30th
Race 3: Myall Classic, September 19th
Race 4: Clarence 100, October 9th-11th
Race 5: Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, October 25th-26th
Race 6: Burley Griffin Paddle Challenge, November 28th-29th

Registrations are now open for the Clarence 100 and Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, with Wyong and the Myall opening shortly.
