Return to Marathon 2021 – one last race.

Six paddlers commencing a race, with other paddlers in the background.

That’s right, with the easing of restrictions, and the promised return to Community Sport, we are planning for one last race in the 2021 Marathon Series.

With the assistance of Manly Warringah Kayak Club (MWKC), the Marathon Committee hopes to be able to run one more Marathon race at Narrabeen on Sunday 21st November 2021, which will be the 8th and Final race in the 2021 Series, and which will count towards paddlers’ Series Point scores.

At the conclusion of the Race, and after a short time for the Committee to validate the Results and finalise the Series Point scores, we are also hopeful of being able to make Trophy presentations to all Division Winners and Placegetters.

We’re working on the final details now, and relying on further advice from the State Government and Sports NSW before we can Open entries.

The event will be run under the prevailing Government and Health guidelines, so you should expect all relevant Covid related rules to be in force.

At this time, we believe that the event will only be open to Double Vaccinated participants, with proof of Vaccination a requirement.

Entries will be through GoMembership, and links to the Race Entry will be provided on this website and on our social media pages once entries are able to be opened.

Paddlers who had entered the postponed Woronora Marathon (original Race 8), will have their entry automatically transferred to the Return to Marathon event at Narrabeen in November.

Stay tuned for more details, ……..and keep up your training.
