Recognition for Recreation Paddlers

PaddleNSW, on behalf of Paddle Australia, is piloting a recognition program for recreation paddlers. Created by PNSW CEO Peter Tate, the program will acknowledge the remarkable feats and stories of recreational paddlers across NSW and ACT. On a quarterly basis we will call for submissions, with Finalists featured in social media circles. The names of all quarterly winners will be placed in a draw for a significant annual prize (sponsors welcome).

Nominations for period April-June 2022 are now open. Send stories and hi-res photos to admin@paddlensw.org.au by 7 August.

What type of stories? The scope is as broad as the many recreational activities in our paddling world. A clean-up campaign. Charting new routes on the Waterways Guide. Wildlife rescue or even human rescue stories. A group welcoming new paddlers onto the water. How about a trip across the Tasman? There are many wonderful activities and stories outside competitive events such as sprint, slalom, marathon, canoe polo etc. Don’t be shy. Be proud of what we do, and share the story to attract even more paddlers into our lifestyle.

Nominations are open to individuals or groups, and also open to members and non-members (which we hope to convert).
