Celebrating Paddling Volunteers: Cindy Mann

May 16th – 22nd is National Volunteer Week, and PaddleNSW is excited to celebrate a range of volunteers from across our paddling community. These are the people that go above and beyond, yet often behind the scenes, to ensure the smooth running of events, the beauty of our waterways and the continuity of our clubs. If there’s a volunteer you’d like to see featured, email admin@paddlensw.org.au.

Cindy Mann is a freestyle paddler and volunteer who shows that paddling and the community around it really are for life. Eileen Callaghan writes:

“Cindy Mann, 66 years young, DOB 22/09/1955. She’s always one of the first to volunteer whenever we hold our freestyle events, be it sausage sizzle, come ‘n’ try days, freestyle throw downs or freestyle comps. She has also recently volunteered to be on our freestyle committee. Cindy got into freestyle paddling well over a decade ago, proving to all the ladies out there you are never too old to start. Cindy can still throw down a move in a feature, and performers rolls and handrolls better than many half her age. But Cindy doesn’t just paddle, she snorkels, mountain bike rides, abseils and caves. Cindy is an inspiration to all our mums and dads out there watching their kids having a blast thinking ‘I wish I could’…YES YOU CAN!”
