2022 Harbour Racing, Race 3 Take 2, Newy Harbour Classic 25 Sept

Newy Paddlers held their first PaddleNSW Harbour Series on Sunday 25th September after having the first set date postponed due to ‘a bit of rain and a slight breeze’. Luckily the weather Gods smiled down upon the competitors second time around, which allowed Newy Paddlers to showcase Newcastle Harbour and surrounds. They certainly hope to build on this event and would love you dearly if you were to spread the word, and get a few more up in Newy next year.

A huge shout out to Newys sponsor Transitions Chiropractic, for enabling the club to have the necessary resources available for the event. Thank you James, your sponsorship was very much appreciated.

Speaking of support, the event could not have been held without Cooks Hill Surf Club, Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Maritime Services, Hunter Melanoma Foundation, Carrington School (for some scrumpdiddlyumptious Egg and Bacon Rolls) Newcastle Rowing Club, Addicted to Coffee (very nice early in the morning) and of course the great participation of the Newy Paddlers Orange Army, plus Paddle NSW and the Harbour Series committee.

LAST……..but not least………YOU, yes, YOU, the competitor, thank you for attending and making the event a success. Without the support of our paddling community, none of these events would proceed. On behalf of Newy Paddlers, we wish to say thank you and “Y’all Comeback now ya ere”

A selection of images from the day – what a magnificent showcase for Newcastle.
