Clean Up Australia Day

Exciting news – we’ve been working with Clean Up Australia Day and Paddle Australia to set up a hub page on the Clean Up Australia Day website! Now anyone can look up where clean up paddles are happening across the country – not just on Clean Up Australia Day, but any time of year. That’s IF clubs let us know they’re happening of course! So please send us details of planned cleanups throughout the year.

Check it out here: www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/paddle

In NSW we have seven clubs involved in Clean Up Australia Day activities so far.

So, we are doing the good work collecting rubbish, now we need to get the data! This will help us with funding applications, establishing partnerships with other organisations, and social credibility among paddlers.

So a reminder for clubs to log their data on the Litter Stopper app. Select:
– Start Clean
– Registered Organisation
– PaddleNSW
Then when entering your clean-up results, under “location” please include where the clean-up was held + your club name. This is the only place we can collect your club name.

Or if this is beyond your time constraints/headspace/oh no not another app, then please email the number of people involved and kilograms of rubbish collected to bron@paddlensw.org.au

And remember, clean-up paddles don’t have to be big club events – it can be one paddler picking up a few pieces of rubbish on their paddle and logging it under their club in the app. It all counts!
